Dr. Roca-Sanju\u00e1n is currently a Spanish &#8220;Ram\u00f3n y Cajal&#8221; tenure-track researcher, awarded in 2018 with the<strong> &#8220;Quantum Systems in Chemistry and Physiscs Promising Scientist Prize&#8221;<\/strong> by the International Society <strong>&#8220;Centre de M\u00e9canique Ondulatoire Appliqu\u00e9e&#8221;<\/strong>. The current research lines of the group focus on the innovative fusion of the <strong>Computational Photochemistry<\/strong> and <strong>Theoretical Chemiluminescense<\/strong> fields brought by Dr. Roca-Sanju\u00e1n applied to <strong>Molecules of Interest in Biology, Medicine, Nanotechnology <\/strong>and <strong>Atmospheric Chemistry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">QCEXVAL group was founded <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in 1993<\/span> within the Theoretical Chemistry Research Unit of the Department of Physical Chemistry of the University of Valencia, when several Ph. D. Theses on theoretical spectroscopy began under the supervision of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Dr. Manuela Merch\u00e1n<\/span> (MM). During the period 2002-2010, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Dr. Luis Serrano-Andr\u00e9s<\/span> (LSA) was also leading the QCEXVAL group. Both were awarded by the Spanish Royal Chemical Society: in 2001 (LSA) and 2007 (MM). The scientific expertise of the group was initially focused on the theoretical study of spectroscopy and photo-induced properties of excited electronic states of molecular systems, with particular interest on those molecules with biological interest. In 2013, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Dr. Daniel Roca-Sanju\u00e1n<\/span> became the coordinator of the group and also co-leader together with Dr. Merch\u00e1n.
